ABOUT
Here at Suzuki Strings Cedar City, we give excellent weekly group instruction to supplement our students' private music lessons and practice. We also provide a yearly Fall workshop with outstanding guest teachers available to all string students in the area.
Our philosophy is informed by the Suzuki approach to teaching music, emphasizing that all children can learn music well, even at a young age.
Suzuki String Cedar City started 38 years ago and is now a Nonprofit 501(c)3. We receive support from Cedar City RAP funds and the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. Thanks to those great organizations for helping make this possible!

LEADERSHIP TEAM AND TEACHERS

AMY GOLD
Administrative Director
Violin & Viola Teacher
Serving as our Administrative Director, Amy is an organizational wizard and also a well-trained teacher. In 2010 she graduated from BYU-Hawaii with a degree in music and continues her training yearly at Suzuki Institutes and online workshops. While in Hawaii, she directed her own group program for violin students. She also taught public school music programs and was the assistant director of a touring children’s choir. Upon arriving in Southern Utah in 2016, she began working with Suzuki Strings, playing in the Orchestra of Southern Utah and learning the viola. Amy loves traveling with her family, trying new recipes and learning new music. While teaching and working with Suzuki Strings, she is also pursuing a Master's Degree at Southern Utah University.
